This month, to help combat the winter blues, we are taking a trip to Dard et Ribo’s sunlit vineyards in the Northern Rhône. René-Jean Dard and François Ribo met very young while studying winemaking in Beaune, and started their eponymous domaine in 1984. The timing could not have been better.
In the eighties, a new wave of wine bars in Paris was starting to pay attention to the kind of unadulterated wines from smaller domaines we are familiar with today. It was then that Dard et Ribo, thanks to their meticulous work in the vineyards and minimalist yet precise approach to vinification, quickly gained an affectionate following.
From 8.5 hectares of vineyards around Crozes-Hermitage, Saint Joseph and Hermitage, today their wines are found in some of the best wine lists around the world.
Join our head sommelier James Lewis in the dining room La Cachette to taste a selection of Dard et Ribo’s show-stopping cuvées from new and older vintages.
