From Gavi to Barbaresco via Alba, we explore the south of Piedmont and the artisans whose wines can so well capture the charm of these terroirs.
Even in Piedmont, the last few decades have seen a resurgence in artisanal wines made in smaller quantities with less invasive ways of farming, by prioritising the vitality of the soil and the peculiarities of each distinct microclimate.
Without foregoing tradition, a growing number of winemakers is today bringing their fresh perspective, and perhaps more approachable, uplifting wines, to a region that has for centuries often favoured full-bodied “food-wines”.
Join our head sommelier James in the dining room La Cachette to taste from a selection of Piedmont new classics, alongside snacks from the kitchen.
